Here are the top three stories today in Cincinnati:

  1. A Hamilton County judge has blocked Ohio’s six-week abortion ban. Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas Judge Christian Jenkins granted a temporary restraining order in a case challenging the law, meaning Ohio’s six-week abortion ban is no longer in effect. The restraining order prohibits defendants in the case, including Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost, from enforcing the law for the next 14 days (until Sep. 28) or from later taking any enforcement action premised on a violation of the law that might occur during that span. According to the judge, the Ohio law, Senate Bill 23 — the so-called “Heartbeat Law” — was causing “irreparable harm” while in effect. (13ABC)
  2. On Wednesday, Cincinnati removed parking minimums for new developments throughout parts of the West End. In a unanimous vote, the Council approved an urban parking overlay district for the neighborhood, which removes all requirements for parking minimums in the designated area. According to Senior City Planner Stacey Hoffman, the West End Community Council requested the change, which impacted most of Linn Street between Court and York. (WVXU)
  3. Two people — a teenager and a man — were hurt during a gunfight that turned into a car crash on Wednesday night. At around 10:30 p.m., two cars were involved in a gunfight on I-75 northbound near the Towne Street exit. At one point, the two vehicles collided, sending one vehicle off the road and into an embankment while the other drove off northbound on I-75. The incident shut down 1-75 north for hours until it reopened on Thursday morning. (Local12)
