Here are the top three stories in Cincinnati today:
- The Cincinnati Bengals, FC Cincinnati, and Belterra Park have been awarded sports betting licenses. The Ohio Casino Control Commission licenses will allow the teams to participate in sports betting when it goes live on Jan. 1. There are 811 sports betting kiosk licenses conditionally awarded in Ohio, so far. (WHIO)
- According to a report published by Rent.com, Cincinnati saw one of the largest year-of-year average rent increases last month. The average one-bedroom apartment unit in Cincinnati costs 26.32 percent more than it did at this time last year. A 2-bedroom apartment unit is 28.13 percent more. The entire state is experiencing an increase. (CityBeat)
- Three orphaned manatees will be leaving the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Gardens after 18 months of rehabilitation. SwimShady, Alby, and Manhattan will be returned to their native waters in Central Florida. The zoo has been participating in the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's Manatee Rescue & Rehabilitation Partnership. It has helped 23 manatees while participating in the partnership for 20 years.
