Video: City Dedicates New Field at Denison Park
The new soccer field at the Cleveland Heights park was used for the first time Wednesday night
Mayor Ed Kelley and members of city council gathered at Wednesday night to dedicate the city's new field.Â
The was approved by council in spring 2010, and the city asked Marous Brothers Construction to build the field at the price of $655,000. The bill was picked up by taxpayers who passed Issue 27 in 2004 and also includes cleaning up Denison Pool, which is no longer in use.
The old field was dedicated in September 1999 and made of natural grass. The new field is made out of "high-end" artificial turf, which is safer, provides more cushion and athletes can play on it rain or shine.
