1. Will Ohio mandate radon testing in schools? What Gov. Mike DeWine said (dispatch.com) — State leaders are signaling they’re unlikely to require radon testing in schools even as central Ohio, including areas near Columbus, is identified as a national hotspot for the gas. After Groveport Madison Schools near Columbus found extremely high radon levels at Dunloe Elementary, Gov. Mike DeWine is urging parents to press their districts to test and address any problems.
   

2. Columbus police hold annual coat drive (nbc4i.com) — Columbus police officers are delivering new winter coats directly to families and children across their patrol areas, with 400 local families expected to benefit. Partnering with Starfish Assignment and AEP Ohio, officers say the annual coat drive is as much about building trust as it is about warmth, especially when they see kids outside in freezing weather without proper gear.
   

3. Mother speaks out after suspects charged in 2021 killing outside Columbus bowling alley (abc6onyourside.com) — Columbus police have arrested two men in connection with the 2021 shooting death of 29-year-old father of three Keishon Riley outside Columbus Square Bowling Palace, bringing long-awaited movement to the case. Detectives say DNA and text messages helped link the suspects to the attack, and a judge has set a $1 million bond for one defendant as Riley’s mother begins to see a path toward healing.
   

4. David Eagle Anderson · (casscountyonline.com) — An 83-year-old Reynoldsburg resident who passed away this week at Mount Carmel East Hospital in Columbus is being remembered for his service in the U.S. Army and long career with Logansport Municipal Utilities. Family and friends can attend visitation and a celebration of life service on Saturday, followed by burial with full military rites and an opportunity to share condolences online.
