Imprisoned Regal Cinema Weapons Suspect Awaiting Charges
Scott A. Smith was arrested over the weekend after bringing guns, ammunition and knives to showing of 'The Dark Knight Rises' at Crocker Park movie theater.

Scott A. Smith remains in Cuyahoga County jail Thursday morning, awaiting formal charges after his Saturday arrest for bringing a gun, ammunition and four knives into a late-night showing ofΒ The Dark Knight RisesΒ atΒ .
Smith's attorney, Matthew Bruce, anticipated a bond hearing Wednesday, but it did not happen.
Nicole DiSanto of theΒ Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's OfficeΒ said Wednesday that Scott would remain in jail until formal charges are made. According to theΒ Cuyahoga County Court of Common PleasΒ website, a formal hearing has been set for 1:45 p.m. Friday. No charges are listed on the docket.

Information is still coming in from the investigation byΒ , DiSanto said. A grand jury will be convened to decide charges, but DiSanto was unsure when that would happen.
Smith was taken to county lock-up on Tuesday afternoon. He had been in jail in Westlake since Saturday night, when off-duty Westlake police officer Jeremiah Bullins searched Smith's Maxpedition bag and found a loaded 9MM Glock semiautomatic handgun, two addition loaded magazines, and three knives. A fourth knife was found on Smith.

Initial charges for the arrest wereΒ carrying various weapons, carrying a concealed weapon and having weapons under disability.
Bruce said Wednesday that Smith brought the weapons into the theater for self-defense, not to hurt anyone.
