Local Performing Fine Arts Teacher Directs Final Show
David Banks directs "Cinderella" at Walsh Jesuit High School for his last production before retirement

The CenterStage Theater Department of Walsh Jesuit High School proudly presents its Spring musical production of the Broadway classic “Cinderella,” with music by Richard Rodgers, and Lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, with a New Book by Douglas Carter Beane March 24th through April 3rd in the theatre at Walsh Jesuit High School, 4550 Wyoga Lake Road, in Cuyahoga Falls. There will be a preview performance on March 23rd at 7PM.
This musical has been a timeless favorite among adults and children alike. “This production is the new Broadway version that debuted in 2013. The updated book gives Cinderella a deeper, and more relevant character” says David Banks, director of the show. This will be the final show Mr. Banks directs after 22 years and 45 productions at the helm of CenterStage Theatre at Walsh Jesuit as he is retiring from the teaching profession. He is a 1974 graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School and spent twenty years performing and teaching in Las Vegas, Nevada before he returned to Ohio. Banks will team with life-long friend and choreographer Kim Raines Colton once again on this show. They have done 25 musical productions together at the school and she will also be her final CenterStage show. Technical Direction is by Zac Tomko, who also has returned from Las Vegas to his alma mater. Special flying effects will be provided by the nationally acclaimed ZFX Flying Incorporated and new costumes will be presented by Mr. Fun’s Costumes of Cuyahoga Falls. The show will be backed by a live, 25-piece orchestra made up of local professionals and students. There is a 28-member cast and a 30-member technical crew.
Shows will be March 31st at 7pm, April 1st and 2nd at 7:30pm. Matinee shows will be April 2nd and 3rd at 2:00pm.
