• State files suit for U.S. 6 land (thecourier.com) — Drivers in Huron should expect big changes along U.S. 6 as the state moves ahead with a $24.5 million connectivity corridor, adding roundabouts, widening sections, and building a bike lane between Sandusky and the Ohio 2 on-ramp at Rye Beach Road. To secure needed land, ODOT has already filed more than a dozen appropriation lawsuits in Erie County, depositing proposed compensation while negotiations continue with local property owners. 
• DeWine awards funds to youth-oriented programs (limaohio.com) — Youth in Huron County stand to benefit from new state funding, as Gov. Mike DeWine directed $500,000 to the Ohio Alliance of Boys and Girls Clubs for workforce development across multiple counties including Huron. Additional grants will support mentoring, newborn recovery, and pregnancy care programs throughout western and southern Ohio, expanding services for children and families in the broader region.
