East Main Property Owner Nailed for Unpaid Fines
City will pass on fees to county to be added to property tax bill

The property at 405 E. Main St. – the plaza that houses such businesses as , and – is one of owed the city that will be passed on to the county to be added to the property tax bill.
The plaza owners, the Zugaro Revocable Family Trust and Jay F. Plymale, were fined $300 for violation of the city's general offense code. The fees were delinquent as of August 2011.
Bridget Susel, acting head of , said the violation involved “overgrown vegetation … that was located behind the plaza.”

Troy Loomis Sr., the city’s code enforcement officer, was alerted to the situation by the . The three-foot-high overgrowth of grass, weeds and scrap shrubs running behind the building presented dangers in relation to accessing fire doors at each business and a cluster of utlity meters for the plaza.
Loomis said such overgrowth also harbors vermin. The vegetation has been cut back to about 18 inches in height.
