Kasich Appoints New Kent State Trustee

Richard Marsh will join the university's 11-member trustee board

Gov. John Kasich has appointed a former FirstEnergy Corp. executive to serve on Kent State University's Board of Trustees.

Kasich has appointed Richard H. Marsh, a former senior vice president and CFO at FirstEnergy, to serve on the 11-member board and replace Andrew Banks. Banks finished his term on the board in May.

Marsh retired from FirstEnergy in July 2009 after 29 years with the power company, according to a news release from FirstEnergy.

Marsh is a Kent State alumni and also serves on the board for the Kent State Foundation, according to the university.

As Kent State's governing body, the trustee board acts on a variety of issues ranging from setting to approving the operating budget and curriculum changes.
