MAC Trailer to Open Kent Location

It took a few months, but Alliance truck trailer builder MAC Trailer has signed a deal to open a plant in Kent.

Work started over the weekend to move into the long-vacant former Fontaine Trailer plant at 1440 Fairchild Ave.

In a June interview, Jim Maiorana, executive vice president for MAC, said they had been considering moving into Kent for about four weeks.

City officials, who broke in Kent earlier this summer, are optimistic the operation will bring as many as 163 jobs — and a $6 million payroll — to Kent by MAC's second year in business here.
