Long-time Kent Patch freelancer fills in as editor takes leave

Editor's Note:

Yes, that's right. Kent Patch readers are getting a new editor, but it's only temporary.

Long-time Kent resident will be filling in for me for about six weeks while I take some time off for medical leave.

Be certain that I'll miss spending my mornings at and grabbing a quick lunch at   while on my way to shoot photos of something new at Acorn Alley II or on the construction sites of — take your pick — any of the downtown redevelopment projects.

I'm going to miss getting a hot story tip from almost every business and government office I stop in at. I will miss staying on top of the news coming out of meetings of and other government bodies, but be sure I won't miss sitting in those uncomfortable chairs.

Don't worry, we're leaving you in more than capable hands. Kasha has 28 years experience as a local journalist, and she's been living in Kent for 16 years. She's got family both attending and working at — where she attended school — and she remains a dedicated townie by serving on the Board of Trustees, the Kent City Schools Hall of Fame Nominating Committee and by taking part in the . She's Kent through and through.

I can't wait to get back to ordering my white mochas and strolling around downtown Kent. I'll see you in a few weeks.
