Electronics hot target for thieves

Electronic gadgets of all kinds remain popular targets for thieves in the Kent area.

• A desktop computer tower, Acer monitor, HP printer, golf clubs and miscellaneous household items — totaling more than $600 — were reported stolen from an address that was broken into in the 100 block of South Lincoln Street Aug. 26.
• A speaker box with two 15 inch speakers and two amplifiers, valued at $1,500, was reported stolen from an address in the 200 block of Starr Avenue Aug. 27.
• A Toshiba Satellite laptop, valued at $1,000, was reported stolen from an address that was broken into in the 600 block of Edgewood Circle Aug. 20.
• A Garmin GPS unit was reported stolen from an address in the 100 block of Brady Street Aug. 22. The GPS is valued at $150.
• An iPod classic, and iPod classic with a gray cover and power cord were reported stolen Aug. 19. The electronics are valued at $250.

Robbery, burglary arrests

Kent police arrested two men recently on robbery and burglary charges.

Jacob S. Hagy, 27, of 600 First Ave., was arrested and charged with robbery, a second-degree felony, this month. Hagy, who told police he is unemployed, was arrested at a Lake Street address. He gave a permanent address of Ravenna.

Mark A. Perkins, 23, was arrested and charged with burglary, a fourth-degree felony. Perkins, who told police he is homeless, was arrested near the intersection of Haymaker Parkway and Willow Street.
