Silver Oaks Residents to Gather at Kent Council Meeting

Seniors will hold a rally outside Wednesday's meeting at city hall

The senior residents of will hold a rally outside Kent City Council's meeting Wednesday night.

Residents of the retirement community will gather at 6:30 p.m., one hour before council's meeting, outside city hall at 325 S. DePeyster St.

The "Save Our Seniors" rally will feature speeches from members of council and poet Maj Ragain, whose mother lives in the complex and is being forced out.

The seniors are expected to submit signed petitions to council Wednesday from people expressing support for the seniors' plight.
