1. 66-year-old woman dead after crash at busy intersection in Montgomery County (whio.com) — A 66-year-old woman has died after a four-car crash at the busy Shroyer Road and East Dorothy Lane intersection in Kettering on Saturday morning. Police say a southbound vehicle never slowed before hitting stopped traffic, and they do not suspect OVI. Investigators are still reviewing potential charges with prosecutors as the community awaits more answers.

Kettering appliance store engulfed in flames calls for firefighter response (dayton247now.com) — An early-morning fire destroyed the appliance section of Prestige Home Furnishings on South Dixie Drive in Kettering, but firefighters kept the flames from spreading to nearby buildings and no injuries were reported. Crews from multiple departments battled subzero temperatures, icy conditions, and freezing equipment for nearly six hours while rotating teams and keeping hydrants and slick spots clear. The cause is still under investigation.
   

4. Man sentenced to max of 17 years in prison conviction involving sex crimes against minors (dayton247now.com) — Kettering police say a 63-year-old man has been sentenced to 15 to 17½ years in prison after being convicted on multiple child-exploitation and sexual battery charges. The case began with an Internet Crimes Against Children tip and led to dozens of charges involving unlawful conduct and explicit images of minors. Authorities emphasize the investigation involved both local and county agencies.
   

5. Local Kiwanis president honored for leadership, community service (wnewsj.com) — A Clinton County Kiwanis leader was honored in Kettering at the Presidential Banquet Center, where Ohio Kiwanis officials gathered to recognize standout service.
