Here are the top three stories today in Lakewood:

  1. More than 40 beagles were rescued from a Lakewood home after police received multiple complaints. Officials said the owner of the home had been hoarding the dogs. The dogs are now under the care of the Lakewood Animal Shelter. (WJW FOX 8 News Cleveland)
  2. Lakewood High School is offering a new Practical Communications class for students. The class is an elective that the school began offering less than a year ago to help improve students' communication skills. Its curriculum includes core communication skills such as how to have a conversation, how to ask the right questions, and how to talk on the phone. (cleveland.com)
  3. The State of Ohio announced it will be granting funding to 54 Historic Rehabilitation Projects in the state. Eighteen of the projects are located in Northeast Ohio, including multiple projects in the nearby Cleveland area. Cleveland's Agora Complex and Erieview Tower are among the projects receiving financial support. (WKYC)
