- To help fight the high rate of infant mortality in Cleveland and Cuyahoga County, the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority is offering "Baby on Board" services. The "Baby on Board" program will give free bus and rail passes to pregnant women and their families to make visiting the doctor easier. (Subscription: Cleveland.com)
- Lakewood Police Capt. Gary Stone said approximately 42 dogs, mostly Beagles, were taken from a home located in the 1600 block of Waterbury Avenue in Lakewood on Dec. 19. Authorities received a report of dogs living in horrible conditions and police reported the home was "littered with feces" and declared uninhabitable by the law department. The dogs were rescued and taken to the Lakewood Animal shelter and others in the area to get checked out. According to police, a man in his late 60′s lives in the home and the case will be sent to the prosecutor’s office for possible charges. (Cleveland 19 News)
- Today, Dec. 20, the City of Lakewood invites the community to join neighborhood police officers for 'Cocoa & Cookies with a Cop.' The event will start at 10:00 a.m. and end at noon at the Cove Community Center. (City of Lakewood via Twitter)
