Body Pulled From Lake Erie, Near Edgewater Park

LAKEWOOD, OH β€” Authorities pulled a body out of Lake Erie on Tuesday.

The body was first spotted at 3 p.m. off the shore of Edgewater Park, according to Cleveland police. The U.S. Coast Guard and Cleveland Metroparks Police were then called to the scene.

The Coast Guard recovered the body on Tuesday evening, according to Fox 8.

Cleveland police will lead the investigation into the death.

The National Weather Service warned Ohioans to avoid the ice atop Lake Erie earlier this week. On Sunday, 18 people were rescued after they were trapped on an ice floe that broke away and floated into the water of Lake Erie.
