Cove Community Center's Winter Warmup Station returns with the cold weather (cleveland.com) β€” If you’re waiting for the bus or walking along Lake Avenue, Cove Community Center’s Winter Warmup Station in Lakewood is again offering free hats, gloves, and scarves to anyone who needs them. High school students and seniors are teaming up to knit and crochet roughly 75 items, hanging them outside the center near one of the city’s busiest bus stops for neighbors to quietly take.

Lakewood mayor says 2025 a year of achievement in city (cleveland.com) β€” Lakewood Mayor Meghan George is highlighting 2025 as a breakthrough year, with construction finally underway on the $115 million mixed-use redevelopment of the former Lakewood Hospital site and completion of the $28 million Lakewood Interceptor sewer project. She also points to the new Lakewood Animal Shelter and ongoing pressure on FirstEnergy over power outages as key ways the city is improving daily life for residents.
