Cornucopia, Inc. Announces Sale of Nature’s Bin Property

From Lakewood Chamber of Commerce: Cornucopia, the Lakewood nonprofit serving people with disabilities, is pleased to announce the pending sale of its Nature’s Bin property on Sloane Avenue in Lakewood to Constantino’s Markets.

“Constantino’s was one of many businesses that approached us about the property when we announced the closing of Nature’s Bin,” explained Cornucopia Executive Director, Nancy Peppler. “We realized quickly that the sale of this property was an opportunity for our neighborhood and for our organization. We made a conscious decision to seek out a buyer who would consider allowing us to conduct work assessments within the business and if possible, buy our ‘Nature’s Bin Favorites’ foods. We are excited to say that Constantino’s will be a partner on both fronts.”

Cornucopia continues to provide vocational training at its Vocational Training Center, at Jennings Center for Older Adults and at Eliza Jennings Health Campus, and job placement, coaching and assessment services in its mission to help people with disabilities develop skills and confidence leading to sustainable employment.
“Constantino’s Markets are family owned and dedicated to providing customers with quality customer service and products, competitive prices, and a unique shopping experience,” said Andrew Revy, CEO/Partner of Constantino’s Markets. “We currently operate two stores in the Greater Cleveland area and are looking forward to opening a third location and being a part of the Lakewood Community. We are thrilled at the possibility to continue a great tradition of a neighborhood grocery store and giving the service the people of Lakewood deserve.” Constantino’s features fresh fruits and vegetables, groceries, hand-trimmed meats, premier bakery, full service catering, daily deli items and prepared foods, local & regional craft beer, microbrews & imported beers, wines from all over the world, and over 140 local and regional sourced products.

Cornucopia is a nonprofit that provides community-based employment training and job placement for people with disabilities. Cornucopia serves people with a wide range of disabilities including developmental disabilities, autism, mental illness, visual, speech and hearing impairments, and injuries resulting from accident or illness. Cornucopia has been part of the Lakewood community since 1975.
