Don't Miss Lakewood's Solstice Steps Celebration TONIGHT

Lakewood's celebrating the first summer solstice at the Solstice Steps properly, with food trucks, activities, music and a beautiful sunset.

The summer solstice is the official beginning of summer and Lakewood is going to celebrate at the new Solstice Steps at Lakewood Park.

It's going to be HUGE!

This will be the first summer solstice for Lakewood's new attraction at Lakewood Park, the Solstice Steps opened to the public after a ribbon-cutting on October 29th.

“By now, most residents have had the opportunity to experience the Solstice Steps,” said Mayor Michael Summers. “This event gives our residents an opportunity to celebrate not only this connection to our city’s greatest natural resource but also to take pride in our community on the longest day of the year.”

Residents are encouraged to bring along a picnic blanket for an evening picnic, or enjoy dinner from one of the local food trucks offering lakefront fare; Barrio, The Gorilla, The Chill Pop, and The Sweet Spot are scheduled to serve food.

In addition, DJ Tom will play music from 6 to 8 p.m. and the Fireside Band will perform from 8 to 9:05 p.m.

The event is weather dependent and will be canceled in the event of rain.
