Drug Mart Parking Lot Getting a Design Overhaul
The owners of the plaza submitted plans to the city that would slightly tweak the traffic patterns at the parking lot.

Thereβs new asphalt and new striping for parking spaces behind the redesigned Lakewood Plaza β also known as Drug Mart Plaza β on Detroit Avenue.
But that doesnβt necessarily mean that the traffic flows through smoothly.

Β βIt doesnβt look that much different,β said city planner Bryce Sylvester. βThe turn from the Detroit Avenue entrance is tight. Right now, itβs terrible. Itβs going to be a lot better.β
He said, if approved by the cityβs architectural board of review, there wonβt be additional parking spaces but the parking spaces would be shifted for βflow purposes.β

The city, which owns the parking spaces on the Arthur Avenue extension as well as those along the fence at Kauffman Park, will not likely make any changes to its parking spaces.
