Lakewood Wine and Beer Festival

Β The Downtown Lakewood Business Alliance presents The Lakewood Wine & Craft Beer Festival, sponsored by World of Beer Lakewood. Enjoy this urban, two-level outdoor festival in the heart of Downtown Lakewood (rain or shine) in the open air parking garage behind World of Beer and Panera Bread. Sample wines, craft beers, food from nine downtown Lakewood restaurants, The University of Akron Wine & Beer School and live music by Erica Blinn and the Handsome Machine and Thor Platter. Come see a Dr. Seuss themed magic show with comedy, music, audience participation and a few surprises at this event for the whole family. Jim Kleefeld has written several books for teachers on classroom and behavior management - all of which helps to make his programs a delight for all. He is now a full-time performer and does hundreds of school and library magic shows each year across Ohio. No registration necessary. Event will take place in the Main Library Multipurpose Room.
English Baroque Concert at Lakewood Presbyterian ChurchΒ Β Β Β
Friday, Sept. 27, 14502 Detroit Avenue, Lakewood. Burning River BaroqueandΒ hΕ«mAnΓ³maliΒ present Desperation and Desire: Music by Henry Purcell and his English Contemporaries. The program is centered on music composed during the English Restoration (1660-1685), when the monarchy was restored and Charles II was crowned king. Praised as an βenergetic and talented band of string. Burning River BaroqueΒ is a Cleveland-based ensemble that specializes in fiery, historically informed string chamber music performances.Β
