Free Sexually Transmitted Infection Screening Available In Lakewood

LAKEWOOD, OH — Signature Health is now offering free sexually transmitted infection (STI) screenings at its Lakewood location.

The screenings are funded by a grant through the Ohio Department of Health. Signature Health will provide rapid, walk-in tests that screen patients for chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis and trichomoniasis.

“Signature Health is a Northeast Ohio leader in offering accessible infectious disease care to our community members,” says Sarah Hoehnen, medical director of infectious disease at Signature Health. “In addition to sharing a positive or negative result, our prevention counselors provide resources and can link people with treatment or prevention services, often that same day if needed.”

Signature Health is one of the few organizations in Ohio that can offer STI screenings for chlamydia and gonorrhea and have results in approximately 30 minutes. That's because of a pair of binx io machines, two of the only such machines in the Buckeye State.

Signature Health also already offers free, rapid hepatitis C screening.
