Guilty Plea Entered For Child Kidnapping In Lakewood

LAKEWOOD, OH — Jeremy McCusker pleaded guilty Wednesday to trying to kidnap a child at Madison Park in Lakewood.

McCusker, 45, was charged with kidnapping, aggravated menacing, carrying a concealed weapon and resisting arrest. On Wednesday, he pleaded guilty to all of the charges except aggravated menacing, Cleveland 19 reported.

The 45-year-old was at Madison Park on Oct. 21, 2021 when he reportedly grabbed a child and attempted to run off with them, Lakewood police said after the incident. A group of adults in the park intervened and stopped the abduction, holding McCusker until officers arrived, police said.

McCusker will be sentenced in March.
