Here are the top three stories today in Lakewood:

  1. There have been an increased amount of reports of theft in Lakewood within the past two weeks. Some of these thefts include grand theft auto and missing vehicles. You can read more about the area's vehicle thefts, attempted thefts, and break-ins in the Lakewood Police Blotter at the link. (Subscription: cleveland.com)
  2. Many Ohioans are facing rising utility bills despite using less energy. State Rep. Mike Skindell is sponsoring House Bill 41, which would require utility bills to provide an itemized list of charges and their purposes, including distribution, generation, transmission, supply costs, riders and charges, taxes, and government fees. The bill aims to provide transparency and help consumers understand what they're paying for when choosing their electric provider. (Ohio Capital Journal)
  3. Winter Warmer Fest, the Ohio Craft Brewers Association's annual winter beer fest in Cleveland, is almost sold out. Organizers have said that there are only about 100 tickets left for Winter Warmer Fest and 50 tickets left for Warmer's Eve, a new specialty event this year. The event is a fundraiser for the nonprofit organization and features more than 65 Ohio breweries with winter, seasonal, limited-edition, and high-gravity beers. (Subscription: cleveland.com)
