Lakewood Fire Department Honors Fallen Dallas Police Officers
This morning, Lakewood Fire Marshal Dunphy raised the Police Memorial Thin Blue Line flag to honor the fallen police officers in Dallas.
Lakewood Fire Marshal Tim Dunphy refers to himself as "the flag guy" because he takes care of everything related to the flags at Lakewood Fire Station No. 1.
This morning, Dunphy raised the Police Memorial Thin Blue Line flag to honor the fallen police officers in the horrific Dallas sniper attack that killed 5 police officers.
"We are flying our police memorial flag in honor of those members who have made the ultimate sacrifice," said Lakewood Fire Marshal Dunphy.

Dunphy told Patch that the department purchased a police memorial flag and a fire fighters memorial flag for unfortunate situations like the event in Dallas. He said that displaying the memorial flag is a way to honor fellow fire fighters and police officers without lowering the U.S. flag to half-staff, which can only be ordered by the president of the United States or the Governor.
Shortly after 1 p.m., Ohio Gov. John Kasich ordered all flags to be flown at half-staff in Ohio to honor the police officers killed in Dallas and Fire Station No. 1 made the change to the flag in front of the station.
