- Lakewood police are using a $217,752 grant from the Office of Criminal Justice Services for new Madison Park safety cameras, and they have added officer overtime at the park to reduce criminal activity. Police Chief Kevin Kaucheck explained, "The focus of the grant is to make the city a safer place in general...This will help us either solve crime or hopefully deter crime." The goal is to have operational cameras within the next two months, and add more later on. (Subscription: Cleveland.com)
- A 34-year-old was arrested for a shooting at Corky's Place in Lakewood this past weekend. Christopher Stokes was charged with two counts of felonious assault for shooting a patron and punching another in the face. Officials are continuing the investigation for further details. (Fox 8 News)
