Lakewood High Football Nominated For Browns Game Of The Week

LAKEWOOD, OH — After starting 3-0, the Lakewood High Rangers football team is getting a lot of deserved attention. They could find themselves even more in the spotlight this week.

Lakewood's game against rival Rocky River High on Friday is nominated for Cleveland Browns High School Football Game of the Week. If the game is selected, the Browns will cover the game on their website and social media and the winning team will receive $2,500 for its football program. Fans can vote for their school to be picked online.

The game will be played at 7 p.m. on Friday at Rocky River.

So far this season, the Rangers have looked dominant each time they've taken the field. They beat John Marshall High 38-6, conquered Bay Village 29-10 and demolished Fairview Park by an astounding score of 55-3. The team is 3-0 overall and 2-0 in conference play.

Rocky River is 2-1 this season, but their lone loss came to an in-conference foe. The team has wins over Midview and Firelands and a loss to Valley Forge.
