Ferrone's logo will be incorporated into the marketing materials and social media used to promote the Summer Solstice event on June 21st.

The City of Lakewood is celebrating the Summer Solstice this year at Lakewood Park’s new Solstice Steps on June 21st and Junior Nick Ferrone's winning logo will be used to promote the event.
The Mayor's Office proposed a logo contest for the event to West Shore Career-Tech’s Media Art & Design School. Fourteen students from Anne McQuay's class submitted logo designs and two were chosen as finalists, Nick Ferrone's logo won.
“We were thrilled with not only the number of logos submitted, but also with the level of talent and the individual creativity and professionalism,” said Mayor Summers.

“This project was a perfect fit for us as it tied directly into our junior year curriculum. The logo project was an assignment for every student, however, it was an individual decision if the student wanted to submit it to the contest. I welcomed the opportunity from the Mayor as it is always a satisfying experience when the students can see the direct application of their efforts,” said McQuay.
