  1. The City of Lakewood's new Neighborhood Traffic Calming Program recently installed speed tables at Clarence Avenue between Detroit Avenue and Franklin Boulevard. Lakewood City Planner Dave Baas said going forward, the city will annually budget for two or three speed table installations to reduce speeding on residential streets. (Subscription: Cleveland.com)
  2. Since 2017, the popular Lakewood bar Around the Corner transforms its side party room into the Christmas Corner Bar every holiday season. Cleveland Magazine calls it "one of the most festive spots for going out in Northeast Ohio." Located at 18616 Detroit Avenue, the Christmas Corner Bar is open on weekends leading up to Christmas.
