- The Lakewood Municipal Court has been awarded a grant to hire additional staff. The $425,000 grant will be used to hire a new IT project manager, two part-time law clerks, and a public defender. The new hires will hopefully reduce the court's backlog of pending court proceedings. The grant is through the state's Ohio Court Backlog Reduction Program. (CNO)
- Akron has joined Lakewood in banning conversion therapy for children. As of Monday, Akron will be the 11th Ohio municipality to ban the practice. Lakewood banned the practice in 2018 through a unanimous vote by the Lakewood City Council. (WKYC)
- Cuyahoga County Crime Stoppers is offering a $5,000 reward for information that will lead to an arrest and charges in a September shooting investigation. The incident occurred outside Showcase Bar & Grille on Sept. 25 and resulted in the death of Ronnie Briggs, 27. Anyone with information is asked to contact (216) 252-7463. (Cleveland 19)
