- An offensive tackle from Lakewood has a long list of offers for college football — including Ole Miss, most recently. Ben Roebuck, a six-foot-seven-inches, 320-pound offensive tackle from St. Edward High School, currently has his pick of 23 colleges for football in 2024. Besides Ole Miss, Roebuck's offers came in from Michigan, Penn State, Ohio State, Duke, Pitt, Rutgers, and more. (247Sports)
- Lakewood's Knapp's Madison Auto and Towing has been busy trying to keep up with repair demands recently. Owner Jerry Knapp, Jr. said the increase in vehicle thefts in the area has given his business more work repairing things like smashed windows and ripped-apart steering columns. "I’m having a real tough time getting these parts," Knapp said. (Cleveland 19 News)
- Ohio's West Shore Meals on Wheels celebrated its 50th anniversary on Dec. 6. Included in the program is the former Lakewood Meals on Wheels program which joined forces with the Rocky River kitchen when it has to close its own program doors.
