Here are the top three stories in Lakewood today:

  1. Lakewood city officials are looking to modernize the city's zoning codes to encourage affordable housing and shared living spaces and allow senior citizens to age in place. The City Council talked about Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs), which can mean in-law suites, detached dwellings over a garage, or tiny houses. Ward 2 City Councilman Jason Shachner said ADUs would "add diversity to our housing stock, create more opportunities for seniors to age in place, and support intergenerational living." The council is currently working on removing a restriction so that anyone with R-2 zoning can add another unit to their property. (Subscription: Cleveland.com)
  2. Help the local community and simultaneously meet others by picking up litter at Lakewood's "Pop Up, Pick Up" on Mar. 29! The event will start at 6 p.m. at City Center Park, in front of Marc's Plaza. Bags, vests, gloves, and litter tongs will be provided to participants. (City of Lakewood via Twitter)
  3. Yelp compiled a list of the top eggs Benedict in every state for National Brunch Month. According to Yelp, Lakewood's Borderline Cafe has the best eggs Benedict in Ohio! (Yelp.com)
