- The Lakewood Police Department is investigating two separate violent incidents that occurred early yesterday morning, Jan. 22. Officers found one man with a gunshot wound to his right thigh and another individual that was allegedly punched in the face by the same suspect at Corky's Place, a bar located at 13302 Detroit Avenue, around 12:50 a.m. The second incident happened at East End Pub, a bar located at 11922 Madison Avenue. At 2:46 a.m., police found two individuals injured after hearing a gunshot, one was struck by a vehicle and another had knife wounds. As of Jan. 22, police say that there is no evidence suggesting these two incidents were related. (WKYC)
- On Jan. 12, police arrested a 39-year-old Lakewood woman for allegedly stealing almost $1,000 worth of cosmetics at a CVS pharmacy on Jan. 8. The items were recovered by security before the suspect left the premises and cashiers identified the suspect through her CVS rewards card, which she used when checking out. Westlake officers picked her up from the Lakewood Police Department to answer the theft charge. (Cleveland.com)
