R.J. Norgard was still in high school when he began working as a reporter and photographer for his local newspaper. A 20-year career in U.S. Army Intelligence included tours in Germany, Las Vegas, and Richmond, Virginia. He has chased Russian spies in Europe, built a log cabin in the remote mountains of Washington State, and helped restore a historic lighthouse in Ohio. His work as a private investigator and defense investigator in Alaska formed the basis for the characters and settings in his Sidney Reed novels. When he’s not writing, he’s likely messing around in boats, reading, playing tennis, or working on some local volunteer project. He is the author of Lights at the Portage: A History of the Port Clinton Light Station, 1833-1952. Trophy Kill is his first novel. He is currently working on a sequel.
