  1. Cleveland Pierogi Week is Monday, Jan. 30, through Sunday, Feb. 5. Pierogi lovers get the opportunity to try each restaurant’s own spin on the pierogi at eight dollars for a minimum of three pierogis. Participating Cleveland Pierogi Week restaurants include Immigrant Son in Lakewood. (Cleve Scene)
  2. Ron Lewis, an AP history teacher at Lakewood High School, used the House of Representatives’ speakership deliberations to relate their studies to "real world events." Lewis said students were not impressed with "the most powerful legislative body in the world" that "can’t do something as simple as pick who the leader is going to be." (Subscription: Cleveland.com)
  3. Yesterday morning, Jan. 9, Jeff Pietrowski, Michigan State transfer and junior defensive end, announced his commitment to the Wisconsin Badgers over multiple other scholarship offers. Pietrowski, a former three-star recruit out of St. Edward High School in Lakewood, earned a 76.6 overall grade from Pro Football Focus. (247Sports)
