- Yesterday, Feb. 2, Governor Mike DeWine visited Lakewood High School and announced that 945 additional schools will receive a combined $68 million in state funding support for physical safety and security upgrades as part of the latest round of Ohio’s K-12 School Safety Grant Program. Governor DeWine said the Lakewood City School District will receive $1 million. The district will use the funding for window and door safety updates, updating locks on doors, and buying an amplifier for school resource officer radios, according to Lakewood Superintendent Maggie Niedzwiecki. - Beck Center for the Arts presents "The Body Rock," a free exhibition on display now through Feb. 27. The exhibit features visual artists, including Martinez E-B, Erin Mazza, and Edward Valentin-Lugo, "who bring edge, awareness of their culture, and talent to their work."
