Weather conditions and and backfilling issues have lengthened the closure.

LAKEWOOD, OH β Demolition of the Lakewood Professional Office Building will continue this week requiring the closure of Detroit Rd. to be extended possibly until Wednesday.
Challenges involving the backfilling of the basement and unavoidable weather conditions are reasons for the extension, according Lakewood Planning director, Bryce Sylvester.
The road closure will ensure public safety during the demolition of the building. The two block section of roadway will be closed between the hours of 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. After 5:30 pm, the road will re-open each night.
