  1. Yesterday, Dec. 7, 34-year-old Emily Deese from Lakewood appeared in court for allegedly stabbing both of her parents in North Ridgeville. Deese faces six charges, including attempted felony murder and felonious assault, for the incident on Dec. 6. Due to her odd behavior in court, the judge will request a counselor speak to her before he officially sets a bond. Deese's 69-year-old father and 67-year-old mother were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. As of Dec. 7, their conditions were unknown. (Fox 8 News)
  2. Cuyahoga County has awarded additional funds to the City of Lakewood Emergency Rent Assistance Program (ERA-1). The county provided another $300,000 to the agency after initially allocating $609,000 in September. Lakewood has received more than $3.2 million in funding over the last two-and-a-half years for its resident emergency rent and utility assistance programs. (Cleveland.com)
  3. There is a new temporary public art display in Lakewood's City Center Park. The lighted installation, titled "Artist Block," was created by Lakewood artist Steven Gutierrez to represent the difficult process of creating new artwork. Are you a Lakewood resident looking for an investment alternative to the stock market? Consider fine art. Masterworks is the award-winning platform helping 575,000+ invest in works by the same world-renowned artists that are coveted by ultra-wealthy collectors and major museums alike (think Picasso, Basquiat, and Banksy.) Masterworks splits these multi-million dollar works into shares, so you can invest without breaking the bank.

Contemporary art has outpaced the stock market by a whopping 131% over the last 26 years. Seven of Masterworks’ eight sold paintings gave their investors a +17.8% net returns*.
