Lincoln MINES Gaming Event in Lakewood Nov. 12
Conference includes Minecraft, COSI Science Spot, Mario Kart Tournament, & more.
LAKEWOOD, OH—How do you make science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education fun for kids? A Minecraft convention! The 2nd Annual Lincoln MINES, an innovative technology conference open to all youth in Northeast Ohio, takes place Saturday, November 12, 2016, 10 am-3 pm, at Harding Middle School, 16601 Madison Avenue, Lakewood.
Minecraft is a very popular video game with youth worldwide. The game combines solitary design work with community based sharing in a way that embraces a diversity of players. It allows complete artistic freedom and the game alters to the interests of each individual player. It is written in the accessible Java language which makes it easy for anyone with basic programming skills to make modifications. These “mods” allow players to create, build, and develop entire communities within the game.

Tickets are $10 for students (5-17 years) and $8 for adults. After September 30, student tickets increase to $15. Children under 5 are free. Sponsorship opportunities and vendor tables are available. For more information and tickets, visit www.lincolnmines.com.
Lincoln Elementary PTA supports Lincoln Elementary School of the Lakewood City School District. Funds raised through events and membership support programs in the school, including teacher grants, field trips, and assemblies that allow our educators to challenge and stimulate their students in creative ways. Lincoln Elementary School is located at 15615 Clifton Blvd., Lakewood.
