- The Lakewood Police Department is investigating a breaking and entering incident on Edgewater Drive. On Nov. 16, an apartment building manager called the police and said a male broke into the building twice the previous night. According to the police report, the manager had a video of the suspect and the suspect drove an older maroon or brown Chevrolet conversion van. (Cleveland.com)
- On Friday, Dec. 2 at 7:30 p.m., No. 1 Lakewood St. Edward (14-1) will play No. 4 Springfield (13-1) for the Division I OHSAA football state championship at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton. All seven championship games will be televised live on Spectrum News 1, available on the Spectrum app and ohsaa.tv, and broadcast on OHSAA Radio Network at ohsaa.org/news/radio. (Norwalk Reflector)
- More than 160 suburban firefighters volunteered their time and services to cover the shifts of Cleveland firefighters so they could all attend the funeral of 51-year-old Cleveland Firefighter Johnny Tetrick. According to the Lakewood Observer, this is the first time that this has ever happened. Lakewood Fire Chief Tim Dunphy spoke to the local firefighters assembled at Lakewood Fire Station #1 before heading to Cleveland. Each city donated one truck and crew to work a station.
