Lakewood Man Tried To Kidnap Child In Madison Park: Police
A Lakewood man faces a felony charge of kidnapping after he picked up a child and tried to run away with him on Wednesday, police announced.
LAKEWOOD, OH — A 45-year-old Lakewood man has been accused of trying to kidnap a child in Madison Park on Wednesday.
Jeremy McCusker faces a charge of kidnapping, a first-degree felony. McCusker remains held in Lakewood Jail on a $250,000 bond. His first court appearance wasn't immediately scheduled.
Around 6 p.m. on Wednesday, McCusker was in Madison Park when he picked up a child and tried to run, police said. Parents and other adults in the park intervened, restraining McCusker and freeing the child, police said.

On Thursday, police revealed they believe drugs or alcohol played a role in McCusker's behavior at the park.
