  1. On Saturday, government officials and administrators will be facing off in the Community Challenge Basketball Game. Proceeds for the event will benefit the Lakewood High Class of 2023 in support of their prom this spring. Tickets are available here and doors will open at 5:00 p.m. at the Lakewood High School Gym.   2. The project to update Lakewood's 100-year-old sewer system has begun. The project will cost approximately $300 million. This upgrade is part of Lakewood's comprehensive Integrated Wet Weather Improvement Plan. Phase One, which is in progress, will prevent treatment facility overflow from entering Lake Eerie. (Patch)
  3. A new City Director has been named in Lakewood. Ernie Vargo, a longtime member of the Lakewood community, will replace Brian Corrigan. Corrigan stepped down from his appointed position last month. Vargo has a long and successful career in the legal world, which will serve him well in his new role. (Cleveland.com)
