It’s OK, Perkoski has heard ‘em all.

“I take s--t from people all day long,” she said with a smile.

In addition to colon hydrotherapy, In Carol’s Care offers infrared-dry-heat sauna and massage treatments.

In her 12th year in business (she spent 11 years in Rocky River), Perkoski said she got started in the colon hydrotherapy business because it worked so well for her.

“We get our oil changed in our car monthly, or whenever we need it,” she said. “It’s important to do that internally. You feel so much better afterwards.”

In Carol’s Care is located in the Madison Square Medical building, but Perkoski is quick to point out that she’s not a medical professional.

“I do not treat or diagnose,” she said. “People should go to the doctor if they have a health problem.”

Routine in Hollywood, colon hydrotherapy is gaining in popularity — even making the rounds on daytime talk shows.

“The colonic cleans out your entire colon,” Perkoski said. “An enema only cleans out your lower intestine — this cleans out your entire colon.”

“It really helps.”

With an oftentimes awkward introduction to the practice, Perkoski looks to take away some of the uneasiness.

In the waiting room, there are books about flatulence and “poo.”

“I try to make this fun,” she said. “It’s important that people feel comfortable when they come here.”

She’s also introduced Thai yoga massage, a 2,500-year-old “Ayurvedic-based body science.”

“They are getting very popular,” Perkoski said.

In addition, In Carol’s Care also offers three- to four-person sauna treatment.

“I am finding that my clientele is increasing because people in Lakewood are so much more open-minded to holistic health,” Perkoski said. “I love the community feel of Lakewood. I’ve gotten a warm reception.

In Carol’s Care his hosting an open house — with massage practitioners on hand, raffles for free treatments, food and a question-and-answer session — at 6:30 p.m. May 16.
