Parking Restrictions Start On Edgewater Drive
Crews are starting work on the Lakewood Interceptor Tunnel Rehabilitation Project and need safe access to the site.

LAKEWOOD, OH β New parking restrictions on Edgewater Drive will be implemented Monday.
Work on the Lakewood Interceptor Tunnel Rehabilitation Project started Monday, the city announced, prompting the parking changes. Crews will move east to west during construction.
"Residents will be notified and signs will be posted when parking is restricted. Most of these restrictions will be during the day (7 a.m. to 6 p.m.) and parking will be permitted overnight," the city said on social media.

The interceptor tunnel carries sewer and sanitary flows to the wastewater treatment plant. The tunnel is 19,000 feet long and is located primarily along Edgewater Drive and West 117th Street. Traffic and parking restrictions will be implemented to give crews safe access to the interceptor, the city said.
Construction on the interceptor tunnel started in 1918 and was completed in 1940. Lakewood officials said the interceptor is now in need of an update.
