Printer Wonderland Exhibit Opening At Beck Center
The exhibit is free and open to the public.

LAKEWOOD, OH β The Beck Center is debuting its Printer Wonderland exhibit in February.
The exhibit is located on the south side of the Beck campus, in the music and creative arts therapies building. The exhibition highlights the work of Julie Schabel, a Cleveland-based artist who runs Wave Space Studio in Lakewood.
Schabel does photo-based printmaking, the Beck Center said, and creates patterns using natural imagery. The patterns can then become optical illusions with added layers. She shares examples of her work on social media.

βI love Beck Center, I took classes here as a kid and am excited to share my work with the community," Schabel said. "No two snowflakes are the same unless they are screen printed. The way I layer colors and allow for imperfections and mistakes in the printing process allows for more individuality for each print. I was focusing on layering the patterns of the snowflakes to create new patterns and textures with the same stencils.β
The exhibit is free and open to the public. Visitors can see Schabel's artwork during the Beck Center's regular business hours or during performances and classes in the Music and Creative Arts Therapies Building. There will also be a free opening reception on Feb. 4 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

βIt is exciting to present the work of Julie Schabel, a local artist and educator, who creates her works right here in Lakewood. We have not had the opportunity to exhibit many screen print artists over the last several years and her work will surely brighten our wintry days ahead!β said Ed Gallagher, director of education at Beck Center.
