Road Construction Projects Begin in Lakewood

With the recent spell of warm weather, several summer road construction projects have begun around Lakewood. 

On Thursday, McKinley Avenue was closed for the day between Hilliard to North Marginal roads.

There are nearly 20 streets that rank among the worst of the worst in Lakewood: Bumpy; potholes; crumbling.

Those are the ones the city will repave first.

Each year, the city analyzes the streets and sets out to repave the ones in roughest shape during the summer. of this summer’s repaving projects at $1.5 million.

Here is a list of the asphalt resurfacing projects, in the estimated order of construction:

• Eldred Avenue (Hilliard Rd. to Delaware Ave.)
• Woodward Avenue (South Marginal to Fischer Rd.)
• McKinley Avenue (Hilliard Rd. to North Marginal)
• Northland Avenue (Detroit Ave. to Madison Ave.)
• Lakeland Avenue (Detroit Ave. to Hilliard Rd.)
