LAKEWOOD, OH β The Lakewood Schools are increasing security at their upcoming Board of Education meeting after their last session was disrupted and forced to adjourn early by anti-mask protesters.
The Oct. 4 Board of Education meeting ended early after a group of protesters refused to comply with the district's mask mandate, requiring all students, staff and visitors to wear masks within Lakewood Schools buildings. The meeting ended with a barrage of insults hurled at Board of Education members.
The next Board of Education meeting is scheduled for Oct. 18. The district is increasing security for the event, a Lakewood Schools spokesperson told Patch.
