Star Wars Day: The Force Is Strong At This Lakewood, Ohio Candy Shop

LAKEWOOD, OH — Cassandra Fear of Fear's Confections at 15208 Madison Ave. in Lakewood does not mess around on Star Wars Day, she goes all out. Of course, Fear's Confections observes all traditional holidays with a unique flair, but Star Wars Day is special. For the uninitiated, Star Wars Day is every May 4th - as in May the 4th be with you.

While wearing an impressive Princess Leia costume, Fear was busy stocking trays of the newly launched white chocolate BB8, the round soccer-ball-looking droid introduced in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. BB8 is just one of many Star Wars themed treats available at Fear's. There are also chocolate R2D2s, Millennium Falcons, Han Solo in carbonite (chocolate), Darth Vaders, Death Stars and more.

Uniquely themed candies are Fear's Confections niche. Last summer during the RNC, the store rolled out Trump Dumps chocolates which sold like crazy and for Easter, Fears offered a cool twist on traditional chocolate rabbits with Zombie Bunnies.

Cassandra was in between a delivery and an appearance on a local news program when Patch stopped in to talk to her about Star Wars Day. Earlier in the day, she made a Star Wars candy delivery to Sysco on Cleveland's west side dressed in full Princess Leia attire.

Cassandra said that the intended recipient wasn't at work to accept the candy, so she left a note and took a Stars Wars selfie in front of the building.

Once Star Wars Day is wrapped up, Cassandra told Patch that the focus will be on Mother's Day. She already has some Mother's Day themed treats in stock and chocolate covered strawberries will be available soon.
