Lawsuits filed by refuse company, EL still pending (morningjournalnews.com) — From the Columbiana County courthouse in Lisbon, a contract dispute between Diamondback Dumpsters and the city of East Liverpool over trash-hauling equipment and services is still unresolved. Key court dates are set for March and April, with both sides seeking significant damages that could affect how local refuse service is handled.

2. Wilson highlights infrastructure gains in Lisbon (morningjournalnews.com) — Major infrastructure upgrades in Lisbon — including the new Grant Street Bridge, a long-awaited water tower, and fresh paving downtown — capped what Mayor Peter Wilson calls one of the village’s most productive years. Residents can also expect a revamped zoning code, safer crosswalks, a restored Greenway–Willow Grove bridge, and new tree plantings, largely funded through state and federal grants.

3. New chief humane officer says he's ready for role (wkbn.com) — Lisbon’s Columbiana County Humane Society is getting a new chief humane officer, longtime animal welfare worker Fabian Pike, who will be sworn in December 18. Pike plans to expand the humane department and convert an on-site building into a training and enrichment center, helping adopted pets and their new families succeed while staff continue tackling animal neglect cases.

4. Making for a ‘Bright Christmas!' (salemnews.net) — Lisbon kids were among more than 700 children who picked out free gifts at The Brightside Project’s “Bright Christmas” event in Salem, which serves much of Columbiana County. With help from many local donors, the nonprofit provided toys, snacks, and support for families in a county where nearly one in five children live in poverty.

Quakers tagged with first L (salemnews.net) — Area girls basketball teams, including programs that regularly face Lisbon, had a busy weekend with Salem dropping its first game, West Branch rolling past Alliance, and United topping Beaver Local. For Lisbon fans, United is hosting Lisbon today, setting up another local matchup that could shake up early-season momentum and conference chatter.
